Re-Opening of National Identity Card Centres
The National Identity Card (NIC) Centres across Mauritius and Rodrigues are reopening on 19 February 19, 2024.
Citizens of Mauritius reaching the age of 18, senior citizens aged 60 and above without the SC Logo on their cards, and individuals requiring replacements due to loss, damage, or name changes can submit their applications at designated NIC Centres.
- Rose Hill National Identity Card Centre, NPF Building, Rose Hill
- Flacq National Identity Card Centre, Customer Service Centre (Ex Fire Station), Central Flacq
- Port Louis National Identity Card Centre, Emmanuel Anquetil Building, Port Louis
- Port Mathurin Civil Status Office, Fisherman Street, Port Mathurin, Rodrigues
Citizens holding an existing MNIC 2.0 identity card is hereby informed that the validity of the National Identity Card has been extended to 20 years. Therefore, their National Identity Card is still valid and they are not required to apply for a new National Identity Card.
Citizens who have previously applied for a National Identity Card but did not collect their card as at 31st January 2024 are hereby informed that they will not be able to collect their MNIC 2.0 National Identity Cards and they will have to make a new application for a new National Identity Card.
From Monday 19th February 2024 to Monday 1st April 2024, all NIC Centres will be also be opened on Saturdays from 09.00 to 16.00.
