Welcome to the MNIC 3.0 Portal. These “Terms of Use” (referred to as “Terms”) are designed to govern your access and usage of the MNIC 3.0 Portal. Please read these Terms carefully. They define your legal relationship with us and provide essential information regarding your access to and use of the MNIC 3.0 Portal.
The MNIC 3.0 Portal, along with its materials and services, is provided by or on behalf of the Government of Mauritius (collectively referred to as “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing, using, downloading, installing, or engaging with any part of the MNIC 3.0 Portal, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms. Your access and usage of the MNIC 3.0 Portal signify your unconditional agreement to be bound by and comply with these Terms, including any future amendments. Please note that non-compliance with these Terms, whether intentional or inadvertent, may result in actions taken against you, including potential claims for compensation and civil and/or criminal liability.
The availability and functionality of the MNIC 3.0 Portal may depend on various technologies and factors beyond our control. While we strive to provide a reliable service, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access or continuous operation of the MNIC 3.0 Portal.
If you are accessing the MNIC 3.0 Portal on behalf of an organization, you must ensure that you have valid authorization to:
- Access and use the MNIC 3.0 Portal on behalf of your organization.
- Agree to these Terms on behalf of your organization.
In such cases, any reference to “you” in these Terms will encompass your organization.
Please ensure that you only access or use the MNIC 3.0 Portal and download its materials from legitimate sources, such as the MNIC 3.0 Portal’s official website and approved online stores. Verify that the MNIC 3.0 Portal and its materials are operated and published by the Government of Mauritius (or its authorised representative, the MITCI) before accessing or using them. We are not responsible for any losses, costs, expenses, or damages resulting from the download or access of imitation, spoof, phishing, or fraudulent digital services from illegitimate sources or those not endorsed or operated by us.
If you do not agree with these Terms, please refrain from accessing, using, or downloading any part of the MNIC 3.0 Portal.
These Terms exclusively govern the relationship between us and you. Transactions and interactions between you and entities relying on electronic identification via the MNIC 3.0 Portal are not governed by these Terms. The extent to which the MNIC 3.0 Portal is used with online services provided by Approved Service Providers is determined by each Approved Service Provider.

2.Access to MNIC 3.0 Portal and Your Account
To access and utilise the MNIC 3.0 Portal, you must register for an account through the MNIC 3.0 Portal’s website or log into your existing account. You acknowledge and agree that you will maintain only one account and one set of login credentials. We recognize one account per individual.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality, security, and safekeeping of your account details, including login credentials or other access methods (which may involve biometric data, such as Face Identification, with your consent). Take appropriate measures to secure your device, including clearing your browser cookies and cache, to safeguard the information and software on your device before and after using the MNIC 3.0 Portal. Your access to the MNIC 3.0 Portal relies on your login credentials. These credentials may be:
- Determined and provided to you by us.
- Supplied by you and approved by us at our discretion.
We reserve the right to invalidate your login credentials without prior notice at our sole discretion, and we are not liable for any losses or damages resulting from such invalidation. You may be required to change your MNIC 3.0 Portal password periodically. Do not share your login credentials or passwords with third parties.
You must notify us immediately if you suspect that your login credentials or account confidentiality have been compromised or accessed without your permission.
You acknowledge and agree that:
- You are solely responsible for all transactions and activities conducted through your account.
- Access or usage of the MNIC 3.0 Portal, including information, data, instructions, or communications related to your login credentials, are considered as actions taken by you.
- We (and our service providers) are entitled to act based on information, data, instructions, or communications transmitted under your login credentials as if they were initiated by you.
We do not have the obligation or capability to verify the authenticity of transactions and activities conducted through your account. You agree not to hold us or any Approved Service Provider responsible for losses, costs, expenses, or damages resulting from any unauthorised use of your account.
