Inscription of ‘SC’ Logo for eligibility of Free Bus Fares

1. In accordance with Section 8(1) of the regulations made under Section 10 of the National Identity Card Act 1985, where the holder of the Smart ID card attains the age of 60, he shall, within 90 days of attaining that age, call at any Mauritius National Identity ​Card Centre with his existing Smart ID card to apply for a card replacement to bear the ‘SC’ Logo.”
2. The Smart ID card with the ‘SC’ logo is free of charge and the previous one without the ‘SC’ logo must be returned to the Mauritius National Identity Card Centre. Otherwise the application will be treated as Loss and a payment of Rs 200 shall be applicable.
3. Documents to be produced upon registration for the ‘SC’ Logo
   • Recent Birth Certificate*
   • Recent Marriage Certificate* (where applicable)
   • Proof of Address** (not older than 3 months)

* A4 printed format in original
** CEB bill, CWA bill, Telephone bill, Rent book, any other Official Correspondence (Bank, employer, etc…)​
